Lightweight, open-source log/metrics shipper — buffers, transforms, and routes data to multiple destinations (S3, Elasticsearch, Kafka). Most-used open-source alternative to Amazon_Data_Firehose; Vector (Datadog-backed) is the common modern alternative when you want a Rust-based pipeline with a stronger transformation DSL. Fluentd is Fluent Bit's older, heavier sibling project.
